Aged 8 and desperate to look like my childhood hero Dennis the Menace I began knitting a black and red stripy jumper from my Leeds bedroom...15 years later and I was in charge at the Newcastle knitting club Miss Spiritual Tramp.
I co-set up the club in 2004 to re-learn my childhood hobby and many glasses of wine and press articles later the club is still running today!
After buying a pair of 1980s bow studs and a 1950s clutch bag on a flea market in Paris I fell in love with sourcing vintage jewellery and accessories. I spent my weekends at car boot sales, flea markets and in charity shops and along with the kitted items I made I began customising my vintage accessory finds and selling them under the name 'Frock' in the boutique I owned at the time; SoandSo in Newcastle city centre.
Two years of being a shop owner and I'd had enough and decided to concentrate fully on Frock. The website launched in June 2006 and Frock is now stocked in boutiques around the country.
